About the Artist

Mr. Ken Hall, also known as Sinco Wocnis was born and grew up in Denver, Colorado. As a child he knew that he could draw...and well...and he spent much of his young life practicing his art.

Much of Ken’s early work was devoted to THE WORLD OF MO, an engrossing imaginary universe created by he and his brother Strat (Ron) Hall. It is a world in which anyone could be anyone or anything that they wanted to be. The characters from this world are illustrated on small cards and are called GANGERS. The GANGERS are the basis of stories, games and songs which all originate from the adventure life in THE WORLD OF MO.

Ken left Denver as a young man and moved to the town of Crested Butte, Colorado in search of the eclectic atmosphere needed to nurture his creative talent. There he advanced his career in doing freelance work within the community and becoming a regular contributor to the Crested Butte newspaper and other publications such as RIVER RUNNER magazine.

In the early 1980's Ken spent a stint as lead cartoonist in the DENVER POST with his comic strip "SMILE HIGH". An avid outdoorsman, he also wrote for the POST’s ADVENTURE section.

Beyond THE WORLD OF MO, Ken has focused his talents on the beauty and wonder of our own planet. Having traveled and live in exotic venues, he has created paintings inspired by the lives of people in Indonesia, Bali, and Java. Other works reflect the grandeur of our own country’s mountains and canyons. Mr. Hall’s paintings hang in collections across the country, as well as around the world.

Ken’s impressionistic landscapes and other illustrations are drawn from a world of experience. His pencil drawings are whimsical, sophisticated and intricately detailed. In his paintings, his truly unique use of color and texture, using thousands and thousands of brush strokes, create an image that’s like candy for the eye. It’s impossible to look away from one of Ken’s works without a "WOW" or a smile.
